What scares me the most is not that the neocons already left us vulnerable to the 9/11 attack, and then used it to institute "phase 1" of PNAC, but that they are NOT protecting us effectively against ANOTHER attack.

They have not instituted proper security for nukes, chem plants, shipping containers, air cargo, RR's carrying toxics through populated areas, etc., etc........  why????

Doesn't it mean that they now plan to use ANY FURTHER ATTACKS in the United States to advance the PNAC domestic agenda further?

The neocons will  -  insert your own worst-case scenario here  -  because whatever it is, it will be far worse than we have now.

And I don't think it's a question of "if" we are going to be attacked again, only "when".

Bye bye American Democracy, hello neocon fascism.

I think the best way to tell what's coming is to look into the war game scenarios.  My bets on bio-terrorism attack.

Bio-terrorism would certainly help the drug companies, who would get billions in emergency appropriations to prepare remedies and defenses. Merck could really use that now.

In related news, look at the threat of the avian flu. WHO estimates range upwards of 100 million worldwide fatalities, but there's no vaccine being prepared because drug companies aren't assured of good profits from a vaccine until the pandemic has started.

And, regarding both the bio-terror and bird flu scenarios, think about the black-market smuggling opportunities in a world of panic and shortage! The prospects so far exceed heroin and cocaine as to be boggling. This may be a certain Azerbaijiani airline's biggest break.

this would fit George Lakoff's model of a strategic initiative - an action with payoff in many areas (no pun intended)

read it! Don't Think of an Elephant by George Lakoff -- best $10 bucks you'll spend this year.
