It was low class, but given that we're angels compared to the shouting chaos of many national legislatures, I think the media-torn new asshole is plenty enough.  The only thing I see censure doing is giving Wilson enough spotlight, and FOX enough cover, to make it a story about censorship, or something like that.  Especially since censure doesn't actually do anything.

Plus if you look at how it's been used in the 20th century, there's really not much grounds for it.

There's no doubt Wilson deserves to be censured.

Whether it would be a smart move politically is another matter.  And given that the 27% of Americans who support his brand of politics are also the 27% most likely not to know the difference between "censure" and "censor" ... I can imagine their reactions now: "he tried to speak up against Obama's lies... and now the Congress is CENSORING him! Socialists!" Boo-hoo-hoo.

On the other hand, I'd hate to see the principle established that "if your constituents are dumb as dirt, you can get away with murder."

Oh wait... what's that?  This just in: it turns out that principle (= IOKIYAR) has already been firmly entrenched in American politics.
