  •  If they want a trigger (0+ / 0-)

then we need to beat them to the punch, as it were.  We need to write the hardest hair trigger possible and submit it before they do.  THEN let the games begin.

Is to agree to a public option trigger only if it is attached to the individual mandates. Public Option goes into effect the second the mandates do.

      •  A strong hair trigger (0+ / 0-)

can have the same effect.  Companies would have one year to get their houses in order, and if they don't, that one year has been spent getting PO infrastructure in place, and away we go.

I can't see how it would ever happen, and he offers the proof.

    •  Or stand firm on the PO.. (0+ / 0-)

And make them come with a trigger that finally entices progressives off the PO or nothing bent.

That's what President Obama should tell the ConservaDems - I'll push the trigger, but you better come up with trigger benchmarks that I can sell to the Progressives.  And I don't want no weak shit that will never be tripped and is there just to pretend there is something there.

      •  I cannot find any evidence (1+ / 0-)

of a trigger that would work, no matter how well intentioned.
