    The economic downturn after WWI in 1919 led to a resurgence of the KKK during the early 1920s.  It was ugly.  We are in for a wild ride.  

    WW1. When the white males went to go fight in Europe black people from the south were recruited to work in the factories to keep the war machine running. Some black men went to war too but it was mostly white men.

    When the war was over the white soldiers came back and wanted their old jobs back.

    Midwestern cities like Detroit that once had only a small amount of black people before the war had a pretty big amount after the war. Conflict followed.
