    That's the important part.  If your state passed the "Nonrecognition of Kinship Marriages from Backassward States Act of 2009," then the constitution would permit them to refuse to recognize said backassward marriage.

        There's a clause of the constitution that requires states to recognize judgments of other states, but it doesn't apply to marriage law.
