    Seems reasonably well-grounded in text, and certainly in history (courts back in ye olden times wouldn't issue advisory opinions, right?)

      more enthusiasm in dreaming up excuses to dismiss cases for lack of standing or similar reasons than earlier courts did.

      The "case or controversy" requirement has been there from the start, but it has been interpreted very broadly in recent decades.
