    But as war-fighters, Marines are trained to engage a threat until it is destroyed, without asking a lot of questions.  While this mission orientation is essential in combat, it is a poor fit with the shades-of-gray world of domestic policing.

    It is not appropriate for the military to be engaged in wars of aggression in any part of the world.  Our military should only be used to kill and destroy our enemies, and that means another military, not a group of rebels, "terrorists" or insurgents.  

    To bomb Iraq or Afghanistan or Pakistan to get terrorists makes as much sense as bombing Murphy NC to get Eric Rudolph.  

    In other words, it is not in America that 'shades-of-gray' exist but in the whole world.
