I'm saying legalize prostitution because people having uncoerced sex for any reason isn't something the government should be involved in. I'm also saying that for the past twenty years most of the people who turn tricks to survive are independent contractors and not the "victims" of some legendary criminal organization.

But I didn't say they were victims either.

And who supplies these facts? Generally the people who exist to combat the problem. I know that there are some real horror stories out there but I've worked in the sex industry and have known at least a hundred hookers (both male and female) over the past 30 years and not a single one of them was tied to a Mafia-like entity. So, I trust my personal experience about this issue more so than statistics engendered by those who make a living fighting it.
