    Forgot who said it, but somebody once pointed out that the problem in Washington isn't what's illegal, but what's legal.  The real, damaging corruption isn't nickel-and-dime earmark stuff, which we might call petty corruption.  It's the selling of legislation for political contributions and promises of future jobs, or grand corruption.  The latter is legal, and is business as usual.

    CREW's list is entertaining, and many thanks to Seneca Doane for the excellent write-up, but the real problem with corruption in Washington can only be fixed with public campaign financing.  To make up a corruption list and fail to acknowledge that is to do the country a disservice.
