I pay 90 dollars a month to cover my wife and I for medical, dental, and optical.  My company picks up the rest.  I have Blue Cross and Blue Shield of California. It is obvious that I have a great deal compared with a lot of other people.

I do not know what the rate of return is for the average health insurance company but what if that was limited?  Someone mentioned 30% profit, why can't you limit the profit?  When I really think about that why do we even have for profit health insurance companies? You can make the argument that health insurance is so critical to everyone that it should be able to sustain itself but not have it for profit orientated.  We are still going to need things such as new hospitals, new procdures, research, etc.

What I am most concerned about is that when this is all over we will end up not fixing anything and we will be right back where we started five years from now.

My wife pays $440/month for our Humana coverage. It would just be $45/month if it was just her. We don't know why it's so much to add me. We're both young, healthy, non-smokers. It's a racket.

      Note to Tea-baggers: Crazy isn't a valid counter-argument!
