  •  unfortunately, tied Poll means we lose in vote. (0+ / 0-)

folks lie when asked in polls. so more work is needed. don't get complacent! Thanks to Everyone up there helping battle the homophobes and lying religious 'leaders'!

Mr. President, I realize you've got a lot on your plate, but we've been starving at the back of the line. Please throw us a few crumbs like ending DADT & DO

last fall in polls about Obama? "Oh, of course he's going to lose because no one's going to admit they're not going to vote for the black dude..." Just how did that work out?

Not saying it's not an uphill battle, but I think Maine folks have a lot more common sense than the people of my good state, as well as fewer pockets of red (unless you're counting lobsters).

Civility is the way of telling someone to go fuck themselves in such a way that the someone agrees it probably is a good idea.

As I explain downthread, the last time a gay rights issue was on the ballot, it was tied at the end but our side won by ten points.

      •  look at 2004 (0+ / 0-)

while the right wing organized their bases in the whole state of Ohio agaist gay marriage (and were able to keep Bush in the White House)... the local progessive folks in Cincinatti won against pro-anti gay discrimintion law in that city   How?  with... grassroots organizing... hardly any TV.  Grassroots organizing is how we won in Vermont, not TV.  not swing voters.  Organizing progressive people!  We need to organize ourselves and not worry about the others.

CA lost because people relied on TV.  There were hardly any field organizers in that state or any real money going into grassroots organizing.  (look at the numbers...SF had a low turn out)  We need to organize ourselves.  and not worry about so called swing voters.

Pass new laws to end media monopolization now.

    •  doesn't matter whether we lose or not (0+ / 0-)

what matters is organizing... he is an opportunity to organized on the ground and not on TV (too much money was spent on TV in California) and not enough on grassroots organizing... We need to start building centers (space) for progressive people who can come and watch a movie, eat, get some support and do the things that the right wing churches do. (and how they have so much grassroots support)

We need to build buildings, (green) and fill them with grassroots organizers that help on every day living things as well as organizing for politics.  We need space and services and jobs in the progressive movement.  Not TV ads and stop wasting time with the swing voters.  if we just organized ourselves we'd win every election.

Pass new laws to end media monopolization now.
