    is probably more socially conservative than you'd think. It's becoming more liberal, but having lived there my entire life, I'm surprised the No tally is as high as it is. Luckily the Maine Equality volunteers have been working their asses off.

      those numbers are a pretty disappointing commentary about my fellow Mainers, but not surprising.

      I'm counting on the 1st CD, particularly Portland, to turn out big for this election.  The rural areas are going to be tough, especially with those idiotic tax repeal questions on the ballot.  Major turnout in the south is going to be the key, I think.

        If churches hadn't gotten involved as much as they have, I think the numbers would be a little better.
