Not a preponderance of minority voters were swayed, just enough to pass Prop 8. The unanticipated effect of taking democratic constituencies for grants. Won't happen next time, but denying it happened last time is counterproductive.

it has already been proven that if every black voter switched to voting no on 8, the proposition still would have passed.

of course, if you were actually interested in the truth, you'd know this.

it's been enlightening having this exchange with you. happy scapegoating, dear.

      •  OK, You Are Correct (0+ / 0-)

Even if 100% of the black voters in greater LA voted against Prop 8 it would still have passed, so the fact that only 70% did was not the killer blow.

But Democratic-tending "minorities" includes Hispanics, especially in greater LA, n'est-ce pas? I am not blaming black voters for the outcome, but shame on minority voters who would choose to alienate a key progressive constituency which normally watches their backs.

This is not an exercise in blame, but in strategy.

Also, calling me a liar is OK, but if you escalate to shithead you may get banned. Just sayin.

it would have come long before now. Just saying.

I think when predominantly white glbt organizations and leadership have done a better job of addressing the racism inside of their glass house, they'll be in a position to start throwing stones at communities of color. that goes without mentioning how much better they do of addressing the needs and concerns of non-white glbt people, because black and gay aren't mutually exclusive, contrary to popular belief.
