    I think Rockwell is underrated.  Maybe in the same way that comic actors and writers are not usually respected as much as their "serious" counterparts.  And the poor guy is always being associated with a fairy tale America, so even his name has become a putdown.

      It was a very real America that Rockwell painted. The newer generations just can't imagine it.

      very specific, which is not what others did, and perhaps that has left him without the full respect he is due. OK, here I am a flaming leftist weirdo, but I do love Norman Rockwell. There is something real in what he offered, that speaks to me, for sure.

      Our system of law is premised on the idea that an unfettered government - rather than criminals - is the greatest danger to our lives and liberty.
