  •  Bless you, my dear. (3+ / 0-)

I often feel like my life is so bad that it just can't get any worse.

Then I read stories like yours. Or hear Keith O's stories from last night's show.

And I get so angry, I want to hit somebody for not taking care of all of us. And yes, I think they SHOULD take care of all of us. We are citizens. We are what makes up this country, not the greedy, worthless scumbags at insurance companies and in government who have their piece of the pie and aren't about to share it with us.

Nobody like you -- or anyone else -- should be suffering in a country like ours.

It's positively disgraceful that they do.

    •  Yes, they should (2+ / 0-)

If I had had the care I needed back in 2004-2005, I wouldn't have had to go on dialysis in 2008. This is why the sign I now carry to health care demonstrations has my picture on it with my catheter fully exposed, because I want people to KNOW what happens without health care.

We don't need more insurance. We need more CARE. We need ACCESS to care. We need a situation where more people get basic primary care rather than worrying so much about how they'll pay their premium and their deductibles and their co-pays and  their co-insurance that they don't get the actual care.

Living kidney donor needed; type B, O, or incompatible (with paired donation). Drop me a note (see profile).
