  •  And in Ohio? (0+ / 0-)

It's curious why there is so little news reported for Ohio, even in the money race. Ohio has both a gubernatorial and Senate race for 2010, with important repercussions both for presidential prospects and for congressional redistricting since Ohio will be losing 1 or 2 House seats.

Moreover, both of the top races are now polling dead even, with the trend toward the two Republicans, and increasingly horrible news for state Democrats revolving around state budget scandals.

My fear is that the news isn't being reported because it's pretty uniformly bad for Democrats. The problem is that the lack of information inhibits our ability to DO SOMETHING while there is still time.

With proper attention to how dire the situation is, we could and should encourage Ted Strickland to withdraw from his reelection campaign. He cannot win, and he'll damage every down-ticket Democrat.

Lee Fisher could move to the governor's race, leaving Jennifer Brunner a clear shot at Portman for the Senate seat.

That's the only way that Democrats can retain a chance at winning at least one of the two major races.
