I don't actually AGREE with the sentiment... in fact I have no idea.  I'm just pointing out that the IDEA ITSELF is either racist or it isn't, regardless of who is saying it.

The suggestion that the substance of the idea is more important than the skin color of the speaker (or the audience) to be particularly extreme.

I'm not sure what you mean by "No middle ground."  I'm entirely open to the possiblity that Dobbs is racist, I'm just saying I can't call him a racist for espousing a view that I have heard espoused by (more than one) NON-racist.

Whereas the people who are disagreeing with me are saying there is zero possibility that Dobbs' comments can be interpreted as anything other than a racist attack on black people... including yourself actually.

I think your suggestion of where "Middle Ground" is lacking is misdirected.

However, an idea may or may not be racist depending on what's going on underneath but some of Dobbs' statements are just plain racist on their face.

      As an example:

Idea: Black kids need to do better at school.

Now if Tom Metzger says it he means black people are lazy and dumb.

If some non-racist says it they probably mean that the school system and environment the kids are growing up in is not conducive to success at school.

      Same idea, different meaning.
