Dear Rep. Conyers and Democratic Members of the House Committee on the Judiciary: Thank you for your continued investigation into the election irregularities in Ohio. It has renewed my confidence that congress is truly representing the best interests of citizens of the United States. There is one reason, and one reason only, that citizens of a free nation allow representatives to run the country - because the citizens believe in the integrity of the vote. It matters little whether vote tampering actually occurred, or simply appears to have occurred; the appearance of impropriety is just as deadly to a democracy. I urge you to demand a verifiable and transparent system of counting votes in all future elections. This is the single most important issue before congress today, and as a grateful citizen of the United States, I thank you for treating it as such.

I would rather be exposed to the inconveniencies attending too much liberty, than those attending too small a degree of it. - Thomas Jefferson
