    especially since the Republican "Contract on America" days, fighting the downright wrong, that we've hardly addressed innovating for the future.

    Really like the "Tax speculative security transactions" but I'd put the rate up near 98% since nothing objectively productive comes from that kind of business.

    In this context, I'd like to mention the 1890s populist platform that would have the US print its own money for the purpose of no/low-interest loans to citizens for business purposes. Thus by-passing the bankers refusal to open up credit, and shifting control of the economy away from people who see no vested interest in the well-being of the nation. So much more true now in these days of international corporations.

    Bet we'd do a lot for the short- and long-term health of the real economy with this kind of approach.

    Until we break the corporate virtual monopoly on what we hear and see, we keep losing, don't matter what we do.
