  •  Airline disasters (0+ / 0-)

Are you planning on doing anything about airline disasters? Because the settings, lessons learned, and ultimate repercussions are also profound, as you have noted in your well constructed diaries (I hope someone is paying you for those).
I can think of the disaster in Tenerife, for example, and the entire concept of Crew Resource managment that came out of it.
Maybe I'll create that diary myself

    •  I intended to start looking into regulation... (0+ / 0-)

...of air lines at some point but no specific plans.  My initial thought was something on the early regulation of the industry, but as I said, nothing specific in mind.  My wife supposedly had some great uncles who were involved in the early years of passenger service in Iowa (until the FAA grounded them for alcohol-related abuses, so the story I was told by one of her distant relatives goes), so I was thinking of something that might tie into that.

I know of the Tenerife disaster, but not a lot of specifics (it's one of several disasters that have happened on my birthday).

If you've got an idea, by all means go for it.  If you wanted, you could even do it as part of this series -- I can't write fast enough to post something more often than every two or three weeks at best, so there's a lot of 'fill-in' opportunities.

And I'll work on it. BTW, I am a surgeon, and the tenerife disaster has meaning for us on the medical profession too.
