For the love of God, can we just once--please!--leave out a Democratic primary element to criticism's about BUSH??

I know you meant well.  I'm just god-awful sick of the circular firing squad.

Bush.  It's about Bush, Bush, Bush, not Dean vs. Clark.

Like I said, I know you meant well.  There are times to be unified, is all.

How is this "circular firing squad"?

I was just making an observation--something I thought was encouraged around here. Humblest apologies if I somehow violated your sense of propriety or appropriateness.

      Sheesh...

      •  Re: Another Bush lie: blame the USS Lincoln (none)
You didn't violate anything at all.  It's just that I've seen--precisely--little sparks like this instantly whoosh into conflagrations of name-calling, invective, and a general mayhem of Democrats vs. Democrats.

As a guy who's heroes include Media Whores Online I'm horribly sick of all it.

Bush is a total chump here--but yet again, inevitably, here is the Democratic primary again.

Unity takes discipline.  We as a party have to get it together.

Fair enough. But if you've seen my posts here (not that I've made all that many) you'll know that my big themes are exactly what you're talking about: it's a marathon, not a sprint, and we can't be tearing each other apart. Additionally, I am not a strong partisan of any particular candidate: of the six viable, there are four I'd be quite happy to see get it, and two I'd be less enthusiastic about but still support.

I appreciate you not wanting to see the thread sidetracked, but it doesn't come off well when you make the call to limit the conversation.

          •  Re: Another Bush lie: blame the USS Lincoln (none)
Well, then, more to the point, why do you think Clark is the only candidate that can respond to this particular Bush lie. He's not. They all can.
            •  Re: Another Bush lie: blame the USS Lincoln (none)
              This is correct.

I thought about this on the way home and realized I made an error.  I apologize

It's impossible to expect Democrats not to quote candidates.

Friends and heroes are for Clark, while I'm for Dean.  I like both men and want the best for the party.

I'm hypersensitive to the whole thing.  Sorry.

I mailed the guy with the apology in case he doesn't read the thread.

sorry to jump into this little squabble, but something you wrote begs commentary:
...little sparks like this instantly whoosh into conflagrations of name-calling, invective, and a general mayhem of Democrats vs. Democrats.

okay, the hissy-fits people have on here get very tiresome very fast, but i actually view this stuff as healthy. we're all agreed on bush and when the time comes (once the nomination is decided), we'll all fight the good fight. but i don't see arguements about the respective strengths/weaknesses of our candidates as a "circular firing squad". nor do i see boosting a candidate as somehow unfairly/unwisely slamming another. it's a primary race. a perfectly normal primary race to become the most powerful leader in the world.

let's have at it...we have candidates talking about real or percieved differences on policy or philosophy. we can argue about the merits of any evidence all day, but all in all, this has been a fairly respectful campaign

i'm definitiely not going to stop a vigorous and healthy debate for the sake of "unity"...that sound s little too much like everything the current administration has tried to do for the last 3 years.

          that being said, bush=bad

I actually enjoy it when BushCo does something arrogant/criminal/stupid/immoral/deceitful and all of the Dem candidates pile on.

I love reading their comments. Call me a carnivore, but one of the best things about having 9 presidential candidates is a surfeit of red meat.
