  •  Dallasdoc, you said it perfectly! (18+ / 0-)

There's something about that generation -- the selflessness, humility, easy humor and gratitude for life -- that later generations have almost entirely lost (honorable exceptions aside.)

And I'll second Dallasdoc on that llbear, you are a continuation of that generation. Your selfless work for Leo and all the other vets you've helped makes you a true model to inspire some self-introspection for the generations after yours that have the "me, me, me, gimme, gimme, gimme" complex.

All the times your father sent you home from his hospital bedside so you could take care of Leo and his family and the other vet and his family who needed a bus ride to Dallas, he knew you were continuing in his footsteps and carrying on his mission.

You were his pride and joy and he showed that when he sent you to finish coordinating Leo and family's move. I sat here in Northern Va in awe of how well you were handling the all the details of taking care of Leo and his family and your dad. And I only now realize you did all of this for Leo in Dallas, TX from Illinois????!!!!!!!! OMG You are amazing, LLBear!!!!

I am so sorry about your dad, Bear. But I know he passed with a heart full of pride and joy knowing he and your mom did a fantastic job with you.
