    There have been a few cases where i just couldn't/wouldn't attend the visitation. I'd take food to the house, help with the arrangements, mow the lawn, wash the car or even do dishes, but couldn't walk up to that casket.
    It's not a matter of denial/acceptance, i know they're gone, i feel the loss; i just don't want that to be my final visual reference of someone i'm that close to.
    So if he wants to come by and help with the chores or just set in an old favorite chair for a while, it's his way of dealing.

    Over the years, this house too, has served as safe haven for several young souls in need. Some temporarily, some more permanently temporary. So i know that situation can create very strong bonds.
