Could McDonnell be wrong assumed to be moderate due to his neutral accent and Deeds as a conservadem due to his Bath county accent?

If you happen to be one of our fairly reliable South or Southeast Asian voters, Latin, speak with your own accent and have experience with some of the anti-immigrant crowd that was strong in Manassas and Herndon and other locations there seems to be such a reservation. That is my sense in a few conversations with friends and acquaintances in those communities. Many have been "burned" and many of the "burners" had Deeds like look, feel and accents. "Old Virginia" has a very different meaning for a lot of good people in NOVA.

Look at the data, old as it is, and such things as 15.9% of our estimated 1,015,302 (2008 estimates) as "Asian persons, percent, 2008" and 30.0% "Language other than English spoken at home, pct age 5+, 2000" and how that non connection may play. That is why Deeds should have been up here intensively long ago, meeting and speaking and reassuring he doesn't think of us as "those people."

The only foes that threaten America are the enemies at home, and those are ignorance, superstition, and incompetence. [Elbert Hubbard]
