    having Deeds in office might possibly have done more damage in 2010 and 2012 if he proved as ineffectul in office as did on the campaign trail. He and this election is irrelevant to everyone except pewrhaps to a few in Va.  Same for NJ, fiiiiiiiiiixing NJ properly will necessitate some seriously unpolular remedies, such as raising taxes not lowerfing them, and shutting down services. They wanted it they got it. Let them try and fix it.

    However, turning on Obama because he is not giving Progressives a tough enough stand on their pet peeves would be disastrous.

    Well, only if, like me, you think giving power back to the repubs would be a disaster. So in 2010, I would hold my nose and elect any Democrat, no matter how centrist over a centrist Republican. Although the way they are going they may not front any moderate repubs, which would in fact give the Democrats more leeway.

    That's what I think anyway, for what it's worth. Deliberately giving away the store out of pique is not my idea of a goood strategy in a hundred year war.
