  •  Legal argument is one thing. Elections, another. (0+ / 0-)

I've worked on campaigns by the dozens. I don't like losing.

But look at the comments and the ratings assigned to a simple statement on strategy:

    -- "You're a homophobe..."

-- "Homophobia comes from all sides."

    -- "...asshole."

That's not likely to turn out a voter, much less to get a lever pulled in one's favor.

Elections are all about turning out voters and getting them to pull those levers. Indeed, winning elections from the Left is mostly about humility.

Leftie voters like displays of sanity.

For example, that's a big part of why Gov. Corzine lost this time around. He had had his car driven at 90 mph down the Garden State Parkway and crashed. The man is an arrogant threat to life and limb.

Name-calling at someone who takes the trouble to read and respond to a pro-gay diary ???

    My, my.

Its not like I'm cursing gays or waving a bloody head around.

Worse than useless. And BTW: I'm not at all sure what "homophobia" means. Something like "fear of queers" doesn't make sense to me. Doesn't make sense at all.

As a guess, that's a term I'd avoid, when writing up campaign materials on these ballot elections. Its jargon. Not used by any state-level majority of voters in conversation. Perhaps off-putting.

Winning is the only thing... in elections.
