    The diarist didn't mention at all the threat from Sens. Bernie Sanders and Roland Burress to vote NO on any bill WITHOUT a robust public option. And Bart Stupak is now sdaying he and the other fetish fetish Dems will vote against the final bill if his amendment is stripped.

    So I don't see much chance of passing anything except through reconciliation, which is just as well because the legislation in it's current form in both the Senate and House are unacceptable and most likely unworkable.

    I say dump the existing bills and go straight to reconciliation. Or at least release the language of a proposed reconciliation bill and give members a choice between passing an effective bill or be subject to a reconciliation bill written by the progressives.
