  •  Abolish democracy. (12+ / 0-)

That's what, in the end, their aim is, isn't it? To have someone to "make the tough choices" without those short-sighted people having a say.

Seriously.  Let's tone it down here.  Asking a commission to weigh evidence and make impartial decisions on things like which durable medical equipment device to reimburse for is a long shot away from abolishing democracy.

In fact in principle, you could argue that it is more democratic to establish a commission by democratic vote in a process that is transparent and well exposed than to leave every minute reimbursement decision up to the hill and the 8,000 lobbyists working on these issues.

in Cuyahoga County. Well, actually they were lied to in a big-business funded campaign that outspent opponenets 91, a campaign shaped by the daily newspaper,a de facto arm of the Republican Party. No one knew what they were voting on. Now it's being promoted that we might get a Republican corporate overlord from another, outlying wealthy county governing one of the region's poorest counties and sucking resources out of the community and into the pockets of the business elite.  And we voted for this, thanks to big money and a lying newspaper. This is why you will see me shed no more tears for the plight of daily newspapers. I hope they fold; bloggers are more objective.
