  •  Do any of you discriminate (0+ / 0-)

between the validity of different wars? Compound that by the implications of freely serving vs being drafted into service?

Is WW2 more, less, or equally as, valid as Iraq?

Does freely chosen service have more, less, or the same value as conscripted service?

Is indiscriminate allegiance on an issue as complex as this reasonable?

for his service, and for thanking folks who risk their lives in service of the country.

He didn't cause or declare this war.  The indiscriminate allegiance was to the people who promoted this war in government, and in the press.

we can do for veterans is not create any more of them unless absolutely necessary. A war isn't a job opportunity, it's bloodshed. Soldiers don't make policy, corporations use politicians for that. I can't condemn a soldier used in an unjust, unnecessary, for-profit war, but for what exactly do I laud him?
