      Privilege in this context is about the invisible benefits that someone gets just by being who they are.  Benefits which are generally invisible to them until they examine them, but which are easily discernible by those who don't have them.
      In this case, who you are is someone who can (for the time being, anyway) a) survive and b) apparently thrive without professional medical care.  Many people cannot, and your anecdote is only a data point, not a data set.
