  •  The key is "legitimate". (0+ / 0-)

A health care reform bill that serves as little more than welfare for the health care industry is likely to lose independent voters.
A health care reform bill that has a negative impact on jobs, ditto.
Or -- one that costs much and delivers little.

Ditto for cooked books such as ten year costing for a program that doesn't actually kick in for five years, etc.

Real health care reform is a winner. Not so real, not so much.

Free speech? Yeah, I've heard of that. Have you?

This is poor analysis. For one thing, HCR won't be in effect for years, at least most of it. So no one will know if it "serves as little more than welfare for the industry" or not, or care. For purposes of 2010 elections, which is what this diary is about, what's FAR more important is passing a bill. Period.

      •  Mandates without systemic reform = welfare for (0+ / 0-)

        the health industry.

Speaking of poor analysis, assuming that nobody anywhere is going to read the bill or care what it says is the height of poor analysis.

        Period.
