  •  Yes. (0+ / 0-)

The Swiss had the chance to disestablish their church in a resolution that went to the voters in 1980. It went down by more than 3:1.

We're not going to get over monotheism by banning its architecture, and the notion that any government attack on a religion is a good thing is very silly. It just gives believers legitimate grounds to see themselves as persecuted.

What kills religion is education and a strong social safety net, not overzealous zoning laws. C'mon. This is a step back from a secular world.

    •  It is on every front that we must confront (0+ / 0-)

ignorance. As long as they are the ones knifing people in the streets as they do Amsterdam I don't care if they are insulted. Their bronze age ignorance is a blight on the world as is all religion. What kills superstition is ridicule.

      •  You think (0+ / 0-)

banning certain kinds of architecture is a form of "ridicule"?

Go ahead and ridicule religion. What evidence is there that banning religious expression has ever harmed the affected religion?

Where does your "on every front" tenet end? What do you think a secular(ist) government should not be allowed to do to fight religion?
