  •  Sounds like you are the stupid one. (0+ / 0-)

Did you really expect me not to take offense at your calling my kids stupid, which they are not? One is a mathematician, another is an aeronautical engineer, and one is a nurse. Fuck you, too, asshole!

    •  unsophisticated political thinking (0+ / 0-)

Obama's 2008 coalition was heavily dependent on Americans who typically are disengaged from the political process. These tend to be the first people who revert to their disengagement ("give up") when political reality strikes.

Democrats will need to find a way to remind these occasional voters that the country is in better hands when Democrats are in charge, even if the policies implemented aren't as instantaneous or far-reaching as desired. The political process is all about the possible. Your kids should vote, even if they're voting for 30% of what they like instead of 0% of what they like.

      •  They are not "occasional voters". (0+ / 0-)

They are politically informed liberals who have watched Obama submit to Wall Street robbery, collude with lobbyists to produce a bad healthcare reform bill, and now sink the US into another Vietnam-like quagmire in Afghanistan.

They all vote in every election - they just won't vote for either Feinstein or Obama again.

        •  and I'm assuming they won't vote for a Republican (0+ / 0-)

So they're talking about voting for a candidate with no chance of victory.  A protest vote.

I won't bother defending Dianne Feinstein.  For everyone's sake, let's hope that by November 2012 Obama will have enough liberal accomplishments to earn back your kids' votes. Three years is a long time...

Apologies for making faulty assumptions about your children.
