The 0% Chance of Being Taken Seriously by Anybody Act of 2009.  Or was it the I'm Being Primaried and Need to Share Up My Base Act of 2009?  I get those confused.

At any rate, I generally don't take much interest in Kabuki, so I'll leave it to others to discuss the finer points of stagecraft.

Revolutionary Road was an awful, awful film.

yep it makes too much sense, is good for the country as a whole. goes after the crooks that have screwed and leveraged this whole country, yep.. its entirely too good an idea to ever pick up steam in a government and country as corrupt as this.

(regarding the bank mess) They want to cure the patient but not deal with the disease.

First, what transactions do you see being banned under bucket shop laws, and second, what states would willingly drive business out of state by using that new authority?

The answers, AFAIK, are "very few if any" and "none," respectively.

What she is proposing is letting the states do the actual regulating.
One thing politicians love to do is vote for something that sounds good to the public, on the surface appears to enhance rights in some way, and doesn't require them to stick their necks out and do the heavy lifting.

This proposal would put the burden of regulation on the states. It's a win-win for Congress.

The idea is so simple and easy to understand by the common man that it might gain traction.
All it would take is one more derivative implosion.
