Not to mention, they would be able to control if they (Keith, Rachel, et al) have jobs anymore, yes?

        You don;t need an iPod.

And if you have a television and cable service, but no computer, you really are far enough out of the loop to be considered uninvolved in modern political life.

        We can't cover everyone. :D :D

But there is no excuse for 90% of people here not to both have access to MSNBC programming for FREE - and to download it every night of the week.

        And ignore Comcast completely.

          •  This is why Fox and their opinions... (4+ / 0-)

...are so pervasive in this country.

I guess that means most of the country is far out of the loop (well, they are, at least where reality is concerned) and why we don't have to argue truth against lies daily.

how about a national subsidy to get them computers/access?  But, to my mind, that wouldn't make them more progressive, it would merely give their conservatism another outlet.

92 year old mother. cataracts. voter. democrat.

shut her out of the loop?  riiiiiiggghhhhhtttt - if we want to lose our majority! go ahead!

no subsidy in the world will get everyone onto computers.  no amount of subsidy will get EVERYONE into the electronic age - and it is really a good thing, too!  SOMEBODY has to know how to function when the power is off!

        •  fyi, junior... (0+ / 0-)

that HUGE block of voters that comprise the elderly (many very conservative and right wing BUT many NOT right wing and conservative) get their news from on air - not cable/satellite.

to assume that the older generation go to itunes is both shortsighted and just plain rude.

you are actually suggesting my 92 year old computer illiterate mother buy a computer and learn to read it through her cataracts?

          please!

this reminds me of the new move to put everything on the "cloud" - from a generation that has never been through a major disaster where there is no power for weeks.

hurricane season in long island years ago left many businesses shuttered for three weeks (storm every wednesday and no power) - because the "kids" couldn't use a friggin' pen and paper to figure out tax and change!  without the "electronics" - the businesses had to close (and lost a small fortune in revenue).

i can't help wonder how we will function with no electicity for a while.  me?  looking forward to a nice vacation with my horse and pup!  stocking up on food and beverage an planning for a nice vacation!

Gee - since iTunes is FREE and works on all systems, the fact that someone does not 'have' it seems rather silly.

They can obtain it at any time. Without payment.

      •  I think you're deliberately missing the point. (0+ / 0-)

Not everyone has regular computer access, not everyone is good with that.  There is a reason it's available on TV.

If you are happy with iTunes and have regular computer access to watch TV online, bully for you.
