    conservative, and GOP White House politics since they were founded in (I think) 1983. There are some very heavy characters who've been identified as members, including Oliver North. Stealth and secrecy are a big part of this, and Republican party politics...

    ...it's not just an evangelical thing, though the chiefs are people who influence millions of largely evangelical voter via their media, broadcast miinistries, etc. There are all kinds of people involved who aren't usually identified in the media as "Christian right." North is an example, another example is alleged CNP member Jack Abramoff. (I almost always say alleged, because CNP membership is secret.)
