    Private insurance mandates are hardly going to resolve that crisis. If we were getting real reform, then you'd have a point.

    Those who can't get insurance now are likely to be forced on junk insurance. High monthly costs, high deductibles, many denials. With that type of insurance, people pay more for the insurance each year than they get in cost savings.

    I have a pre-existing condition and see it as quite dangerous/impossible to move back to the US right now. I had COBRA and junk insurance before and had no money left even though I lived with my parents and barely spent any money on myself.
