  •  Yes - everyone talks about consumer confidence (3+ / 0-)

    and how it has to be improved to make this economy work again.  But what we really need is business confidence.  The confidence to start hiring people again.  The more people hired, the more people can spend money the stronger the economy will be.

    But all the super-large corporations - and there are many of them with all the mergers of the past 15 years - layoff thousands of workers each time they merge.   A little less spent on executive compensation and less "we need more market share" would go a long way to getting people back to work.

      by the realisation that the bulk of American workers are woefully underpaid.  And consumer confidence won't return until they are reasonably paid, because they're out of cheap credit now.
