And all that matters now is his "yes" vote.

So how exactly in the long run his being damaged is better for HCR is beyond me.

I'm shocked to learn that 1 in 12 Americans do not know that the bird, is in fact, that word.

Baucus was also going to work with Kerry and use his friendships with moderate Democrats, and Snowe, etc to try and get the Climate-Energy legislation restarted

Now that's not going to happen, so more global warming, yay!

As long as one guy we started hating just recently goes down, we all cheer

    •  Isn't the current defense of the shitty bill (0+ / 0-)

that it's just the first phase in the long process of reforming health care?  That we pass this now, and fight to improve it down the road?

      •  Yes - and it's so shitty that about (0+ / 0-)

30 million people who don't have health insurance now will get it.

        •  Whatever your judgment (0+ / 0-)

about its current incarnation, virtually everyone who wants the bill to pass says that passing it allows us to fight to win improvements in the future.  Many people think it's good enough; virtually no one thinks it's anywhere near as good as we ought to have.

Unless you think that this is the last iteration of healthcare reform during what Baucus hopes will be his entire career, you'd have to admit that Baucus can have a major impact on healthcare reform into the future.

    •  Why Would This Story Affect His HCR Vote? Unless (0+ / 0-)

the WH or Harry Reid leaked this - not likely scenarios at all - why would Baucus change is position on health care reform?
