    you'd probably be less liberal today.  The multiple-church experience was probably a good thing re: tolerance and a less-doctrinal attitude, yes?

      Was definitely good for me.  When I was born my parents dedicated (promised to raise me Christian) at my grandparents American Baptist church.  We started regularly attending a North American Baptist church when I was 8.  When we went on vacation at my grandparents' cabin we went to a United Congregation of Christ church.  I went to Catholic mass with a fried a couple of times in high school.  I attended a Lutheran college and have performed in Lutheran, Methodist and other denominations of churches for band.  And I have practicing Russian Orthodox members in my extended family.

      And basically it reinforced what my mom taught me about that in Christianity we ultimately all believe in Christ so everything else is details.  It wasn't hard for that to get generalized to 'everyone has the right to their own beliefs, no matter what they are'.
