  •  Hi John (0+ / 0-)

Georgia here (georgia10, we chatted a bit back during your campaign).

As you know, many people are indeed willing to support Alexi, as non-campaign polls show and as our list of endorsements demonstrates.  That list of endorsers includes such progressive leaders as U.S. Rep. Jan Schakwosky, Cook County Commissioner Forrest Claypool and U.S. Rep. Mike Quigley.

Additionally, the hard-working families of labor organizations across the state have stood behind Alexi, just as he has stood behind them in fighting to save Illinois jobs.

We've been endorsed by SEIU (which, bizarrely, the Hoffman campaign attacked with GOP talking points), the Illinois Federation of Teachers as well as almost two dozen other unions.

Also, given that both candidates are now on air, we are confident that as voters get to know both candidates, support for Alexi will continue to grow.

As an aside to readers, this is our new ad:

      Georgia 10,

First of all, let me just say that I look forward to working on the same team again when we can both say we are fighting for a solid progressive – perhaps the general election:)

Ah yes... 2006!  We were both dipping our toes into progressive politics and DailyKos... fighting for Big D Democracy... You have to admit that there is some irony in the fact that you were on the cover of the Chicago Reader the month before I graced the cover.  At least nobody here is going to start trashing the Chicago Reader!

Look, everybody here, including myself, respects your work and I will admit that, while it is a good move by our opponent to hire an "insider Kossack," I look forward to having you back in the scrum, fighting for democracy.  So, instead of moving to the next frame that includes me talking about your list of insider endorsements and David Hoffman’s outsider credentials, let’s move on to something a bit more interesting...

After a computer crash and a long train ride home without a laptop, I got to thinking.  It really would be great to get a DKOS debate together in Chicago or somewhere else in this great state!  Clearly we have established that the debate is going to happen whenever one or the other posts here – may as well make it official.

There is an expressed willingness from Team Hoffman, and, in this diary your team has indicated the same willingness to debate.  You probably have the connections to pull off something pretty snazzy from the KOS site management team.  It would be cool!

With your KOS insider connections, I am sure that you could amass quite an on-line cheering section for your candidate and with my "outsider grassroots organizing skills," I could probably put enough folks in an auditorium.  I assume you have complete confidence in your candidates’ ability to debate and we feel very good that David is ready for prime time.

So, in the name of BIG-D Democracy, what do you say?  I think that it would really put DailyKos on the front page of the Chicago papers and even create some buzz in the beltway press if we can get this done early.

      Until the next round...

      Respectfully,
      John Laesch

I have a lot of respect for you, but I am really disappointed that Alexi endorsed the escalation of the war in Afghanistan.  Even Durbin who is a very close friend of Obama did not do that.  Big mistake.
