  •  Well she does have a PhD from Columbia (none)
I checked on Dissertation Abstracts International, and she does have a PhD, dated 2000.  The abstract is not terribly long, but I don't really see the need to post it.  She compares treatment of China under Truman and Nixon.  In fact, it is titled "Clearer than truth": Determining and preserving grand strategy. The evolution of American policy toward the People's Republic of China under Truman and Nixon".  It sounds appropriately theoretical, at least from the synopsis.
I kinda see this as another one of those "why are there no conservatives in academe" answers.  She obviously can make much more money presenting herself as a commentator than teaching and trying to get published in scholarly journals.  Besides, then she would have to grade all those freshman papers...

Sorry, Annette, I didn't read to the end and posted a chunk of the abstract above...

      •  Crowley's dedication -- no joke (none)
"For Harry Truman, Richard Nixon, Dean Acheson, and Henry Kissinger: Strategic Thinkers and Actors"

Not family, significant others, professors, or pets.  That strikes me as a bit odd, but maybe I'm too mawkish in my academic sentiments.

        •  Easy Explanation (none)
She was built on the Stepford Planet, where they get those other blond, right-wing drones.  Soulless robots have no family or pets to dedicate their pre-programmed writings to.

"She compares treatment of China under Truman and Nixon."

Does she mention the vociferous right-wing promotion of Madame Chiang (yes, they had a Wurlitzer even back then) while Truman was trying to deal with China?

I honestly do not expect an answer, but just wanted to share the thought which leapt into my mind.
