    as the contracts they signed have been breached.  If this were a volunteer army, then their contracts would have been honored. As it is, they are little more than indentured servants

      I think it's grossly abused. I agree with Hannah that voluntary service does not negate the president's responsibility to send troops into battle only when truly necessary.

      Still, the contract you sign does not include a guaranteed discharge date. The print is teeny-tiny, but it's all there.

      My oldest brother is a Vietnam veteran and is proud that his son is serving. But he made damned sure John understood: recruiters lie. Read the contract. Every single word.
