  •  what beautiful language (none)
and of course you've found a snarky little passage that proves your point. ;-)

the fact remains that a change of the heart through salvation by believing in redemption through the big J.C. is a fundamental part of the gospel. We can't truly claim this Jesus without acknowledging it and somehow framing it into the liberal mindset. (apologies for using the word "frame").

but you get extra points for a great, lovely quote, and a fine retort to all those pharisees out there preaching hate and division. I'll be using this.

    •  But what does it mean... (none) "believe in" Jesus Christ, or anyone or anything else?

IMO, there is a big difference between "believing in" and "believing that," and a lot of unnecessary confusion could have been avoided if the language had been more precise.  To "believe that" something is true is simply to indicate intellectual assent.  To "believe in" someone is to trust and to follow that person.  I do not have to accept the literal truth of the virgin birth or the physical resurrection to endeavor to follow Jesus' teachings and example.
