  •  Well, since the public option and Medicare Buy-in (0+ / 0-)

are out, Obama might be able to persuade Snowe and Collins and Nelson be damned. I hate the guy.  I really do.

White House, get Snowe's vote and let Nelson have his vote and use it as he wants.

    •  I don't want Senator Snowe's vote. She also (1+ / 0-)

wants concessions to be exacted from the bill that are just as bad as Nelson's.

I work full-time with the FDL team on health reform thanks to your donations.

      •  I don't think any of her concessions would be as. (1+ / 0-)

bad as Nelson's. The guy is practically a devil. He doesn't want anything done on health care.  At least, Snowe would be honest.

        •  way more so than holy joe (0+ / 0-)

that's for damn sure.  and i do think we can appeal to snowe and collins on the abortion issue.  then joe and nelson could go blow goats or whatever it is they do to console themselves upon being denied the spotlight.

in any event, i hope the wisdom in courting snowe and not telling her to stuff her stupid trigger is amply evident now.

oh no wait...it would still suck, because that would just interfere with the obama = wimp/enabler/sell-out/fail narrative and no one could keep accusing him of caving in to everything.

The problem with people who need to follow leaders is that they need to follow leaders.

a bit, but at least she wants subsidies and medicaid expansion, right?  These are the only remaining helpful parts of the bill, and it looks like they would have to be stripped to get Nelson's vote.  Also, she and Collins represent a liberal state and have some pressure at home to vote for something Obama asks her to.

and not worth courting, imo. She's marginally less anti-choice/anti-woman than the devil before us now, but she's no friend to progress or vulnerable Americans. She wants the subsidy amounts lowered, right? And she's trigger happy in the wrong direction.

She reminds me of droopy joe: the coy, fake concern and thinly disguised contempt for the poor are geared for spotlight attention while upholding a corporate agenda.

Everybody knows that the dice are loaded             Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
