I won't go to tin foil hat land, but what is this stuff all for anyway?  Fusion centers? Total Information Awareness---why does the government need this concept applied to citizens?  If I recall, prior to 911, the FBI got information from an agent about guys taking flying lessons and didn't use that information.  So why does our government need to know when I buy a bottle beer on a credit card, or to be able to read a steamy email exchange between me and my girlfriend?  Or to know my credit rating?  Etc.  All known without warrant.  Books I read.  List goes on.  They can profile us with this information, and then what do they do with the profile, who do they give it to?

I don't like it.  Seems we're monitored, and locked down (the IRS can, with a simple fax letter, seize your assets, or order your employer to send your income to IRS.. but banks can steal from the country, and that is not a problem?)

Still don't like it.   More people will start living off the grid I guess, or they will be fine with being characterized.
