For all the BS about "we have to pass a bill or the Republicans win" the Republicans also win with this piece of crap about to be passed in the Senate.

The Republicans will exploit every weakness, every dollar mandated to be given to the insurance industry, and every word inserted so the Democrats can pass "something".

The Republicans are licking their chops and chomping at the bit waiting for the opportunity to explain to the American people what this bill will cost them and what it really means. Health insurance companies are popping the champagne corks in anticipation.

That is the shortsightedness of passing anything to claim you passed "something".

And with all due respect, to claim this bill is part of the progressive agenda is delusional.  Progressives were thrown under the bus by this administration from the beginning.

Do you really think the Republicans will be "licking their chops" and that they want this bill to get passed? I believe you're very wrong. This bill will get popular and the Republicans will have again been on the wrong side of history. But it's useless to debate it now, we'll see in the not so distant future who's right.

why are they willing to tie themselves to the tracks in order to stop it? While it may not provide immediate relief for the middle class, that will come over time. The poor will benefit immediately. For example, the bill provides $600,000,000 for public health clinics in 2010. By 2016 that rises to $2.6 billion. That's not chopped liver. Kill the bill and that goes away, and we'll have another 20 years of moaning about woulda, coulda, shoulda.
