    Medical care is at the mercy of what you can negotiate, which is kind of sick. Let me give you an example. I went to a doctor who ordered some routine bloodwork. The lab is in his office but I guess they use different billers. So the blood lab send me a bill for 419 dollars. I send my insurance in, since they had me down as uninsured, but I still was far under my ridiculous deductible. But just for being part of a large insurer, suddenly the same bloodwork was only 122 dollars. That's what makes this idea difficult in practice, if you don't have enough negotiating power to start, your co op will end up paying through the nose for basic services and won't be able to compete. Keeps the monopoly
