  •  The Volt is GM's most aerodynamic vehicle (1+ / 0-)

And the side profile is almost the same as the Persu or Prius or Insight.  This appears to be the most aerodynamic shape you can wrap around four seats and fit in a reasonable sized parking space.  A car like Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion would have lower drag, but be too long and about as well accepted as the Pontiac Aztec.

It's not hard to look at the Aptera and imagine it stretched a little and tweaked to get four seats.

The followup vehicle was to be the "4-series" (codenamed "Palomar"), a 4-seater.

The Volt is GM's current most aero vehicle, but it's not as aero as the EV1 was, which in turn was not as aero as the Aptera 2-series is.

    •  Unfortunately... (0+ / 0-)

aerodynamics function in three dimensions, not just two.
