  •  You would all be appalled at the things kids do, (7+ / 0-)

kids who are sitting in class with your children every day. We in the teaching profession are consistently asked to take kids into our rooms who are coming back from some egregious act or otherwise entering with a history of scary or sick behavior.
The pressures of various acts and suits have made the classroom a place where the rights of the emotionally disturbed and ineffectually parented trump those of the average child. I protest on a regular basis that I would not want my own child seated in a classroom with certain children and I try to be a voice for the other 25 kids in class but the administration is usually weak.
Publicize it, make other parents worried about it, but be prepared to have parents wonder what the big deal is about this "typical" boy behavior. Some people don't have the same expectations of behavior for children.
    I'm just saying. Good luck!

comprehend this comment.  Student safety is a TOP priority for all of us in our building.  And, our state legislature just passed a no-hands-on, anti-bullying law that we all take VERY seriously and are accountable for. Having high expectations in this arena works, and yes, young teens can and do learn that violence is NOT acceptable behavior.

Plutocracy is rule by the wealthy, or power provided by wealth. Are we there yet?
